Airbnb was founded in 2008 and has hit the world by storm.
The accommodation marketplace offers access to millions of places to stay in more than 191 countries, from apartments and villas to castles, tree houses and B&Bs.
Individuals, couples and families are creating a business out of offering people a unique space, something more than your everyday hotel room.
When Mike and I were away on our 6 month adventure through Europe and America our first choice was always Airbnb.
There is something about getting a more local and personal experience.
Seeing first hand how other people live, getting insider tips on the best eateries, local hang out spots and of course it's great for interior inspiration.
With Airbnb spaces you can be creative, experiment, go a little crazy.
You get the opportunity to try stuff you wouldn't maybe do in your everyday living spaces in terms of style, design and homeware items.
Function is still important, it's no use having an amazing styled kitchen if functionally it just doesn't work but scope for creativity is definitely widened.
We are seeing more and more people turn to social medial platforms to showcase their homes.
Scrolling through Instagram I have come across retail brands based both here and in Australia buying and showcasing their Bali villas on Airbnb.
Also people using the platform to showcase their accommodation and gaining a strong following.
Some Airbnb's have taken the opportunity to turn their accommodation into a brand.
Welcome packs, business cards and opening up their homes for photo shoots are on offer.
A lot of listings have even designed a logo.
The White Sands, a costal Airbnb located in Palm Beach, Australia  have recently released a beautiful stripped linen bag for people to purchase.
Below are a collection of Airbnb's that I follow and would one day love to stay at.
