This week I talk to Kasia Stanicich, the Christchurch Girl Boss who is dominating the makeup world and is currently obsessed with pants!
Killing some time before heading down South to study this boss lady decided to study makeup ... she fell in love with the job and hasn't looked back.
Kasia is a girl of many talents, a freelance Makeup Artist, Content Creator, Blogger and Social Media Consultant.
Travel inspires her, she loves food and couldn't live without her Estee Lauder Double Wear Nude foundation.
Happy reading x
What is your daily beauty routine?! It's pretty basic, considering my lifestyle. I've recently chopped my hair to a very 'just woke up like this' length, and my makeup is just glowy and fresh. A lick of foundation and concealer, cream bronzer and highlight and then mascara is my usual.
Any beauty products you couldn’t live without and would like to share with readers? YA! Estee Lauder Double Wear Nude is my go-to. It's been a staple since the week it launched and I think I'm onto my third bottle.
I'm also a huge fan of MAC Extended Play mascara for lower lash goodness that NEVER smudges.
What’s the best part about being in the makeup industry? All the people I meet- soooo cliche but true! I get to be a part of some of the biggest days of people's lives and it's really an honour.
2 go to items / essentials when it comes to makeup? I'd be lost without my Real Techniques sponge. I prefer a thin, even coverage so the usual buffing brush tends to deposit too much product for my personal preference. I'm also a huge fan of an under eye corrector- it stops you from using a heavy concealer (hello, creasing) and REALLY wakes you up. MAC Prep and Prime pen in Bright Forecast is my current love.
Trends you would expect to see this Summer? Trends I would *hope* to see ;) I cannot WAIT for the heavy to move on. The double cut creases, thick matte lips and 4 shades of highlight has had it's time and I'm ready for its youthful sister. I love a bronzed, smokey eye with a fresh dewy skin. If anything, I think a statement lip (maybe even a satin instead of mattes!!) will be coming back.
How would you sum up your style? Basic, bargain and PANTS. I am SO obsessed with pants currently haha.. I think I've bought 6 pairs this month! They work so well for my body shape and you can dress them up or down. All in all- I love a bargain buy and clean, neutral colours that I can mix and match.
Who is your fashion / style muse? To be honest, I don't have ONE. I think because of different seasons, styles and body shapes, I gain as I go. Some of the people I follow that I would consider 'ICONS' have 6ft long legs and that just ISN'T me, or they live in California or Sydney so it's not quite Christchurch style, if you get me...
Who are your top 5 Instagram accounts you like to stalk?! TOP 5!! That's so hard! I may as well get you on some of the NZ talent bandwagon, so my favourites for style are -
Click on each account to go through to their profile ⚡
and then @elle_ferguson
Tell us a secret ... They say organised people have to have an outlet where they are super disorganised- mine is my room. Your lucky if you can see the floor...
What gets you out of bed each morning? My bladder? Lol nah! A creative buzz. I get so excited to create content, write things, film stuff or paint my face. Every day is different for me and there's nothing better than that!
What and who inspires you? I get SUPER inspired when I travel. Even if it's only an hour or two out of town, it's a breath of fresh air for my mind and I love it.
What’s in your handbag? About 18 tickets for the parking building in the city... A handful of MAC lippies, a distressed Witchery wallet and a phone power bank (CANNOT live without my phone).
Your favourite Spring / Summer destination? QUEENSTOWN! If you've never been, it's a must do. No matter who you are, your age, interests- ANYTHING- Queenstown has something for you. It's also only an hour flight away so it's my perfect getaway.
Favourite hangout spots around Christchurch to eat & drink at?! Oh my gosh worlds hardest question. We are pretty spoilt for choice at the moment, but my top picks are almost all along The Terrace. You can never go wrong with Amazonita's pasta or one of the many amazing choices for a spot of brunch.
